Please review these terms carefully before reserving or purchasing a vehicle from Lal Auto Japan.

  • • Prices may change due to exchange rates, taxes, and shipping—final price confirmed on invoice.
  • • Deposits secure reservations and are generally non-refundable unless stated otherwise in writing.

1) Who we are

Lal Auto Japan is a Sri Lanka–based vehicle dealership specializing in the import and sale of Japanese vehicles (new and used). References to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean Lal Auto Japan; “you” or “customer” means the person or entity purchasing or reserving a vehicle or using this website.

2) Scope & acceptance

By accessing our website, making an inquiry, placing a reservation, or purchasing a vehicle from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

3) Vehicle listings, availability & pricing

  • Information: Photos, grades, mileage, options, and other specifications are provided in good faith based on auction sheets, supplier data, and inspections. Minor variations may occur.
  • Availability: Stock status may change at any time. A vehicle is not reserved until a deposit is received and confirmed in writing.
  • Pricing: Advertised prices are indicative and may vary due to exchange rate fluctuations, duties, port charges, logistics, and government levies. The final price is confirmed on the pro forma / tax invoice.

4) Inspections & test drives

We recommend independent inspections. For in-stock units in Sri Lanka, supervised inspections and test drives can be arranged by appointment and subject to valid driving documentation and insurance coverage.

5) Deposits, reservations & cancellations

  • Deposits: A deposit may be required to reserve a vehicle or to initiate a special order/import. Unless stated otherwise in writing, deposits are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations: If you cancel after we have committed funds to purchase, shipping, or reconditioning, we may retain the deposit and recover reasonable costs.
  • Failure to complete purchase: If payment deadlines are missed, we may cancel the reservation and resell the vehicle.

6) Payment terms

  • Payments must be made in the currency and by the deadline stated on the invoice.
  • Ownership/title transfers only after full and cleared payment.
  • Bank charges and transfer fees are the customer’s responsibility.

7) Registration, taxes & compliance

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the buyer is responsible for vehicle registration, revenue license, inspection fees, and any applicable taxes, duties, or levies in Sri Lanka. We can assist via third-party service providers upon request.

8) Delivery, shipping & risk

  • For imported vehicles, estimated arrival dates are indicative. Delays may occur due to shipping schedules, customs, or force majeure.
  • Risk of loss passes as specified in the invoice or delivery note; if not specified, risk passes upon delivery or collection.

9) Condition, warranty & after-sales

  • Used vehicles: Sold on an “as-is, where-is” basis unless a written warranty is provided.
  • New or reconditioned units: Any warranty terms will be stated explicitly in writing (coverage, duration, exclusions).
  • Wear-and-tear items (e.g., tyres, brake pads, bulbs) and damages arising from misuse or neglect are excluded.

10) Returns & refunds

Vehicles are high-value goods customized by choice (grade, options, import). Therefore, no returns are accepted once delivered/registered, except where required by law or where we have explicitly agreed in writing.

11) Accuracy of information

We strive for accuracy but do not warrant that descriptions, pricing, or availability are error-free. We will correct errors when identified and, if necessary, discuss alternatives or refunds of payments not yet committed to costs.

12) Website use & user content

  • You may not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape data, or misuse forms.
  • Content you submit (e.g., inquiries, reviews) must be lawful and truthful. We may remove content at our discretion.

13) Privacy & cookies

Your data is handled per our Privacy Notice (see privacy.html). We use cookies to improve site performance and analytics. You can manage cookies via your browser settings.

14) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability in connection with any vehicle or service is limited to the amount you paid for that vehicle or service.

15) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of the website.

16) Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including shipping disruptions, natural disasters, regulatory changes, or strikes.

17) Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Changes take effect when posted on this page with the updated date.

18) Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Sri Lanka.
